PROP is an RIBA-chartered architecture and interior design studio with a focus on the delivery of contemporary residential and community projects. We work on commissions across the UK from our base in East London.
Our approach is based upon a strong sense of collaboration to deliver projects that are shaped by our clients’ aspirations and ideas. We take time to research and understand the specific context of each project that we work on to make sure that our design proposals respond to the geography, orientation and history of the site, resulting in buildings that are rooted within their surroundings. We prioritise the use of sustainable materials, the optimisation of natural light, and the craftsmanship of both traditional and modern building techniques.
We provide an integrated architectural and interior design service to make sure that each project is considered as a cohesive whole, from the external envelope through to the internal finishes. Our service is thorough, adaptive and pragmatic: we oversee all of our projects from the initial concept design stage, where we look at a range of different options to determine the best route for the project, through to applying for statutory approvals, construction detailing, tender, and supervising the project on site. This comprehensive approach ensures that each project is executed in line with the original design intent.
The practice was founded by Heidi Wakefield in 2019. Heidi studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh (MA(Hons), M(Arch)) and the University of Westminster (PGDip) and is registered with both the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
